IQ Solutions – Striving for customer excellence

IQ Innovations have brought a range of innovative smart motion sensing products to the Australian market and whilst it may appear that we are product focused we are committed to ensuring that the products we bring to Australia are effective in as many situations as possible.  One of our regional customers recently had a wireless signal issue with one of the NW-760 Pro Wi-fi motion sensing lights which he had installed and IQ Innovations worked closely with the customer to identify a solution.

 Our customer, NT Roll Press, a metal fabrication business working out of a 450 square meter shed installed two NW-760 Pro Wi-Fi’s at their premises, one at the front of the shed (where the office is located) and another at the back of the shed.  However, the ability to view footage and alerts from the product installed at the back of the shed was erratic due to frequent drop outs with the wi-fi signal.  The company had already invested in installing a Netgear AC1200 Wireless Extender which was installed in the middle of the shed to improve the wi-fi range between the office and the back of the shed.  The Netgear AC1200 Wireless Extender is a fantastic product, however it does not cover the range that was needed in this situation.

 IQ Innovations was contacted by the customer who advised of their problem with drop outs. Our commitment to ensuring our products work as they have been intended to, prompted our team to look into this issue in order to find a solution which would solve the intermittent drop outs due to wireless signal fluctuation and ensure that the footage and alerts from the product installed at the back of the shed could be viewed without any problems.  Our team came across the Tp-Link AV500 Powerline Extender, a product that allows data to be sent over power cables enabling data to be sent to various devices without having to run additional data cables if a power cable or power points are close by.  Here is where we experienced a second hurdle as the office and shed area were on different distribution boards.  In order for our identified product to work a separate circuit would need to be installed from the office distribution board out to the back of the shed.

 NC-Electrical installed the circuit and connected the AV500 Extender and cabling power cabling required to connect the modem and the Netgear AC1200 Wireless Extender which created a hardwired connection back to the modem (as if someone had run blue data cable direct), reducing the wireless unreliability between the Wireless extender and Modem. The NW760 was then re-added to the Wireless Extender SSID on through the IQ Nightwatcher App for the customer. The results were excellent, drops out through the app are now no longer and issue and the owner of NT Roll Press can now view footage from both devices without any problems.
